Dog gear is bought on need, and she has already met the need. A fourth lead sits in a drawer. A toy lasts a week. The gift reads as generous but lands as clutter, because she has already solved that problem better than you can from outside the household.

What to look for instead
- Something specific, not generic. "Dog lover" on a shirt is a category. A scene that matches her actual dog is a gift.
- Something she can wear on a normal day. Novelty gets worn once. A heavyweight cotton tee gets worn weekly.
- Something that survives washing. A gift that cracks after four washes becomes a reminder of a bad purchase.

Matching the design to the dog
